In Give Us a Song the Chorus presents its second recording project. In
2007 Joseph M. Martin was commissioned to compose an anthem in memory of
longtime member and a soloist on our previous recording Singing from the back
row, David Lyn Hensley. "Give Us a Song" is the result of that collaboration
and serves as both the title of the CD and the centerpiece of the recording.
Of the fifteen years of its existence Rev. Dr. John T. Opsata has been
the Men's Chorus' director for ten. Mr. Brad Herndon began playing the
piano at the age of seven and has been the group primary accompanist for eleven
years. Rev. Larry Sivis was the Chorus’ first accompanist and returns as
the arranger and organist on “All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name.” Mr. Rick
Jouett serves as the Chorus’ volunteer Business Manager and Pastor Ed
Huckleberry is the Region’s Director of Men’s Ministries. As with our first
recording, once again, Mr. Bill Johnson of W.H. Johnson Company, recorded
and produced this CD. This recording was made February 16-20, 2008 at
Crestwood Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Lexington, Kentucky.
If you are interested in singing with the group or having the Chorus perform in
your area, please contact the Christian Church in Kentucky.
All proceeds from the sale of this CD will be used to support the youth
outdoor ministries and men's ministries of the Christian Church In Kentucky.
